OKX plans to adjust some index components on August 26

According to the official announcement, in order to further improve the market liquidity and index stability of leverage, delivery, and perpetual business lines and prevent market risks, Ouyi plans to adjust some index components from 5:00-8:00 pm (UTC+8) on August 26, 2024. The adjusted index will be calculated based on the price of the new component and the new weight corresponding to each component. It is reported that the indexes involved include BETH-USDT, BETH-ETH, BLUR-USD, and BLUR-USDT.

OKX reminds that due to the recent market volatility, the adjustment of index components may cause the index and the corresponding leverage and contract market mark price to fluctuate. After the adjustment of the gear rules, the maintenance margin rate of user positions may increase. In order to prevent forced liquidation caused by the rule adjustment, please reduce the actual leverage multiple in time through closing positions, reducing positions, adding margin, etc., and control risks.

Odaily Planet Daily News WazirX released an important announcement on the next steps for Indian rupee and cryptocurrency withdrawals: It is regrettable that users have been unable to withdraw cryptocurrencies from their platform accounts for a period of time, but it is not that simple to resume cryptocurrency withdrawals. Due to a cyber attack and the loss of a large amount of ERC-20 token balances due to theft, the available token assets are insufficient to repay the debts incurred by platform users due to token balances. For Indian rupee balances, after careful evaluation and understanding of all user feedback, WazirX decided to lift the suspension of withdrawals of INR balances on August 26, 2024, and INR withdrawals will be enabled in phases. Next, the platform will soon submit an application to the Singapore High Court to ensure sufficient time for reorganization in accordance with the arrangement plan.

UniSat founder: Fractal plans to activate on the mainnet on September 1st

Odaily Planet Daily News UniSat founder and CEO Lorenzo said on the X platform that rapid progress has been made in the implementation of smart contracts and cross-chain bridges. In terms of smart contracts, Fractal launched OP_CAT in the testnet reset today (August 13) and plans to activate it on the mainnet from September 1. Regarding cross-chain bridges, 3 to 5 methods are being developed to transfer assets from the Bitcoin mainnet to Fractal. And said there is a strong developer plan to promote the practical application of Bitcoin expansion. In the next few years, the Bitcoin system has four pillars: compatibility, composability, parallelism and scalability. Fractal is strengthening these four aspects in different ways.

Compatibility: BRC-20, RUNE, and a number of other Bitcoin protocols will be natively supported, with a modular approach to make them interoperable and compatible with Bitcoin;

Composability: Advanced Bitcoin virtual machines will be gradually enabled to build modern applications within TapRoot (so that compatibility can be maintained at the blockchain level). We also tried an off-chain execution model, brc 20-swap (which may become Fractal Swap or PizzaSwap in the future);

Parallelism: The UTXO model and stateful tx-chains enable services to be executed locally without interfering with other services, resulting in extremely high localization and efficiency without having to worry about global state;

Scalability: Think of the Bitcoin blockchain as the backbone of a new system that will need thousands of Fractal instances built around it. Bitcoin as a blockchain just needs to exist. The scalability of the entire system is key.

WazirX: More details on the restructuring process will be provided next week

Odaily Planet Daily News WazirX said in a post on X: “Our current decision to take the restructuring path may cause some concerns, but we want to emphasize that this is the most beneficial and legal way to solve current encryption-related problems.

We believe this direction is in the best interest of the platforms users and allows us to move forward efficiently. Unfortunately, external parties that have no investment in the platform may seek to prolong this situation for their own reasons. Their intention appears to be to maintain uncertainty rather than seek a solution.

Our primary goal is to help users recover as much of their funds as possible while exploring ways to increase value. Rest assured, we are continually evaluating all available options, but as mentioned before, these solutions take time and patience.

Additionally, we are actively pursuing various legal avenues and bounty programs to recover the stolen assets. These efforts are ongoing, and we remain fully committed to achieving the best outcome for our users.

We will provide more details on the restructuring process next week. Remember, this is not bankruptcy or liquidation - those avenues take years to resolve. Be cautious of individuals who may try to steer your choices for personal gain.

Regrettably, some are seeking to exploit this situation for their own gain. We encourage everyone to focus on achieving the most effective and expeditious resolution through restructuring.”

Jupiter releases ecosystem token API and standards, plans to deprecate old API by the end of August

Odaily Planet Daily News: Jupiter released the ecosystem token API and standards on the X platform. The new API enhances the trading function and can immediately display tokens from new markets. The relevant tokens are verified every day, enter the trusted list, and undergo rigorous testing by the Jupiter community and users. It is reported that the new API is built on the Metropolis infrastructure.

Jupiter said that it will identify counterfeit tokens that impersonate the names and symbols of popular tokens and remove them from the API. It will also ban certain tokens based on community reports. The symbols of the top ecosystem tokens are protected and will continue to improve over time to ensure community safety.

Jupiter said that the old API will be deprecated within a month before the end of August 2024, and the new API responses will be roughly similar to the old API, so it is hoped that it will be an easy migration.
