Zcash mining rewards per solo machine are about 2x Bitcoin's, with roughly 4x higher reward per unit of electricity
Odaily News: Crypto asset management firm Grayscale estimates that Zcash mining rigs generate daily mining rewards roughly 2x those of Bitcoin mining rigs, and about 4x on a per-unit-of-electricity basis. Zcash mining activity has grown to more than 2.5x its level at the start of the year.Zach Pandl, head of research at Grayscale, said that at current valuations, Zcash mining profitability is relatively high, as token price gains have driven up mining rewards and encouraged more hash rate to join. Grayscale believes that more hash rate can support network security. The comparison uses the Bitmain S23 Hydro and Bitmain Z15 Pro as samples, assuming an electricity price of $0.05 per kilowatt-hour, full-load operation, and excluding transaction fees. Pool fees, cooling, other operating expenses, and equipment costs are not included in the calculation, and actual profitability is still affected by these factors.Bitcoin miners' total daily rewards are about $35 million, higher than Zcash's roughly $2 million. Grayscale's Zcash investment product assets under management surpassed $500 million on September 8 and recorded more than $70 million in cumulative external inflows. (Bitcoin.com News)
Bitcoin Hashprice Rises 20.41% in Four Days, Miner Revenue Climbs to $38.29/PH/s
Odaily News: Bitcoin's Hashprice has increased by 20.41% over the past four days, rising from a daily rate of $31.80/PH/s on August 18 to $38.29/PH/s on August 22. Hashprice is used to measure mining revenue corresponding to a specific amount of hashrate, and this increase has boosted miner income. As of August 22, a total of 133 large, medium, and small mining pools, along with individual mining operations, contributed hashrate to the Bitcoin network. Mining pool Foundry USA led with 214.73 EH/s, followed by Antpool with 156.17 EH/s and F2pool with 110.62 EH/s, while ViaBTC recorded 91.02 EH/s.The Bitcoin network's total hashrate has risen to approximately 922 EH/s, approaching 1 ZH/s. In August, miners have so far earned $682.69 million from block subsidies and transaction fees, of which transaction fee revenue accounted for $5.14 million, lower than July's $875 million. On August 22, the average block interval on the Bitcoin network was 10 minutes and 5 seconds, with current data indicating an expected difficulty adjustment of approximately -1% for the day. Based on an electricity cost of $0.10 per kilowatt-hour, the Bitmain Antminer S23 Hydro 3U is projected to yield an estimated daily profit of $17.86. (Bitcoin.com News)

A Senator Writes to the U.S. Department of Commerce, Demanding Explanation on the National Security Review of Bitmain
Odaily News U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren has sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, requesting documents and communication records related to Bitmain to understand how the Department of Commerce is handling the potential national security risks posed by the company.Bitmain is a leading global manufacturer of Bitcoin mining machines. In November 2024, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security initiated an investigation codenamed "Operation Red Sunset" to examine whether Bitmain's ASIC miners could be remotely accessed for espionage or to disrupt the U.S. power grid. It is reported that the investigation remains ongoing.Previously, shipments of Bitmain equipment were halted, and the use of its miners near U.S. military bases was flagged as posing significant national security risks. Warren's letter also demands that the Department of Commerce provide details of communications between Bitmain, the Trump family, and Department of Commerce officials. The Trump-backed American Bitcoin Corp. had previously purchased 16,000 Bitmain miners for $314 million.
F2Pool Co-founder Wang Chun: ETH Once Rebounded from $1,386 to $4,956 in 4 Months, Investors Should Not Be Swayed by Short-Term Panic
According to Odaily, F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun posted on the X platform in response to recent crypto market cycle fluctuations, stating that Ethereum once fell to $1,386 in April 2025 but rebounded to $4,956 just four months later. He emphasized that the market is cyclical and investors should not be swayed by short-term panic.Previously, Wang Chun also pointed out that the Proof-of-Work (PoW) mechanism is Bitcoin's "constitution," and the mining mechanism and the core role of miners in Bitcoin network governance should be respected. Without miner support, it would have been difficult to activate Segregated Witness (SegWit) and implement the Lightning Network. Miners are a crucial force in maintaining Bitcoin network security and stability, having played key roles in multiple controversial events, including the hashrate competition surrounding Bitmain, Roger Ver's related forking stance, the Satoshi Nakamoto identity controversy sparked by Craig Wright, and the BIP-110 proposal viewed by some in the community as a farce.
VanEck: Recent capitulation-style selling by Bitcoin miners may indicate that the bottom is near.
According to Odaily Planet Daily, Bitcoin's hashrate dropped 4% in the month ending December 15th, and miner capitulation is historically a bullish contrarian signal. Matt Sigel, Head of Crypto Research at VanEck, and Patrick Bush, Senior Investment Analyst, pointed out that since 2014, the probability of a positive 90-day forward return for Bitcoin when the current hashrate declines over the past 30 days is 65%. Bitcoin is currently trading at $88,400, nearly 30% lower than its all-time high of $126,080 on October 6th. Furthermore, the break-even electricity price for Bitmain S19 XP miners has decreased from $0.12/kWh in December 2024 to $0.077/kWh. Analysts suggest the hashrate decline may be driven by the closure of approximately 1.3 gigawatts of mining capacity in China, with some electricity potentially being diverted to meet AI demands. Currently, 13 countries, including Russia and Japan, still support Bitcoin mining.

The three major Chinese Bitcoin mining machine giants, which account for more than 90% of the market share, have turned to the United States to set up factories to cope with tariff pressure
Odaily News In response to the Trump administration's "Liberation Day" tariff increase policy, Bitmain, Canaan and MicroBT, three major Chinese Bitcoin mining machine manufacturers, have set up production lines in the United States, accounting for more than 90% of the global mining machine market. Canaan has already started trial production in the United States, while MicroBT is actively promoting its localization strategy. Analysts warn that China's dominance of hardware supply poses a strategic risk to the United States, and U.S. mining companies are pushing to restrict imports of Chinese products to balance supply and demand.
