Pause Timeline Delayed to Q2 2027, Balancer Proposes Fork to Restart Protocol
Odaily Report: The Balancer community has proposed a "Fork and Reincarnate" proposal, aiming to continue its technology and ecosystem through an official fork in the event that the protocol may be shut down, and to position the new protocol as a tokenized stock trading platform. The proposal suggests that MAXYZ lead the establishment of a new official fork entity, migrating part of the liquidity, team members, partners, users, and intellectual property, while delaying the pause timeline for existing pools and the Vault to Q2 2027.Regarding funding, the proposal plans to use approximately 6 million uncirculated BAL remaining from Balancer as seed funding for the new project, worth about $690,000 at current prices; if the new protocol conducts a token issuance or other liquidity exit event in the future, the Balancer treasury will receive 10% of the new protocol token's fully diluted valuation in advance. The proposal also plans to grant the new fork a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to Balancer-related intellectual property.
Bitcoin BLAKE2b Proposes Requiring Miners to Wait 45 Days Before Accessing Newly Mined BTCB2, Token Down 84% From Peak
Odaily News: Bitcoin fork project Bitcoin BLAKE2b developers plan to restrict miners from unlocking newly mined tokens, with a waiting period set at 45 days. The related change is proposed to be executed at block height 973440. The chain forked from Bitcoin on August 8.Its native token BTCB2 is also labeled by some trading platforms as Bitcoin BLAKE2b, Bitcoin BIP-110, or XBT. BTCB2 has fallen 84% from its September high of $1,799, trading at approximately $270 to $315 in recent hours.Developer Luke Dashjr stated that some BLAKE2b mining pools are "attacking" the network. After forking, the chain inherited Bitcoin's difficulty, mining only about 8 blocks in the first 22 days, before resuming operation by enabling BLAKE2b hashing and adjusting difficulty.Currently, the chain is not listed by most trading platforms or CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap. Trading platform Neoxa has stated it supports the upcoming soft fork. (Bitcoin.com News)

Network paused, MultiversX says attackers attempted to exploit VM-level atomicity issue
Odaily News: According to MultiversX monitoring, attackers attempted to exploit a VM-level atomicity issue, causing invalid state changes on the network. To prevent the incident from escalating further, the network has been paused. The development team has prepared a fix, which will first be verified in a shadow fork environment; after successful testing, it will be coordinated with validators, exchanges, and infrastructure partners for deployment to mainnet. Currently, the team is evaluating a targeted recovery plan to process only the invalid state changes related to this incident while preserving confirmed transaction history and normal user state.Users do not need to take any action. Until the official recovery notice is issued, please do not submit or rebroadcast transactions, and do not deposit or withdraw EGLD and ESDT assets through trading platforms or cross-chain bridges. After the incident is resolved and the investigation results are confirmed, MultiversX will release a full technical report.
Zilliqa to Conduct Second Hard Fork on September 22, Completing ZIL Migration for Multiple Exchanges
Odaily reports that the Zilliqa network's second exchange migration hard fork is expected to trigger on September 22 at 7:21 UTC at block height 36,383,378. ZIL from participating exchanges will be migrated from legacy wallets to verified Zilliqa EVM addresses, involving multiple exchanges; Bithumb is expected to complete its migration in the third hard fork. After the migration is complete, each exchange will gradually resume ZIL deposits and withdrawals on Zilliqa EVM, with specific timing subject to each platform's announcement.
Bitcoin fork asset BTCB2 once hit $1,799, with a fully diluted valuation of $20.9 billion calculated at a price of $1,000
Odaily News: Bitcoin fork asset BTCB2 hit an all-time high of $1,799 on September 5. Over the past 4 hours, its price has fluctuated between 750 and 1,000 USDC; the Neoxa USDC market recorded a 24-hour trading volume of approximately $1 million.BTCB2 originated from a chain split that occurred on August 8, 2026, at block height 961,632. The network subsequently changed its proof-of-work algorithm to Blake2 and reduced block size, and it can now be mined using Blake2-compatible ASIC miners.Neoxa Exchange and Nonkyc.io have listed BTCB2, with the former offering BTC, USDC, and USDT trading pairs, and the latter offering a USDT trading pair. Both platforms have limited liquidity, and CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko have not yet listed the asset.Based on a BTCB2 price of $1,000, its fully diluted valuation stands at approximately $20.9 billion. Since UTXOs need to be split from Bitcoin first, transactions may otherwise be vulnerable to replay attacks; the network's hash rate has risen by 30.41% over the past 7 days, reaching approximately 5.1 PH/s. Core DAO Plans Emergency Hard Fork as Validators Receive Excess CORE Rewards
Odaily News: Blockchain project Core DAO has announced a coordinated emergency hard fork, caused by validators receiving CORE rewards exceeding the blockchain's originally scheduled issuance. Core DAO stated that the incident is under control, malicious validators can no longer continue to obtain excess rewards, and the upgrade will not roll back the network or revoke confirmed transactions.Core DAO previously stated that a small number of validators had accumulated rewards significantly higher than the protocol's set issuance, and that the incident only involved reward distribution, with user assets remaining secure. Coinbase, Bithumb, Coinone, Bitget, and LBank had restricted CORE deposits, withdrawals, or transfers.Core DAO has not yet disclosed the amount of excess CORE issued, the duration of the related activity, whether the extra tokens entered circulation, or the cause of the vulnerability, and stated that it will publish a technical post-mortem report. BIP-110 minority chain restarts, switching to Blake2b and reducing block size to 300 KB
Odaily News: The BIP-110 community restarted the stalled minority fork chain this weekend, which had stalled on August 8. The chain has mined over 800 blocks. Blockchain developer Luke Dashjr switched the proof-of-work algorithm from SHA-256d to Blake2b and reduced the block size to 300 KB.The BIP-110 minority chain forked at Bitcoin block height 961,632, then stalled; at height 961,640, Silent Wave mined a block under the new Blake2b consensus rules. The project is expected to release new software on September 1.The fork chain's asset has not been listed on any centralized exchange, and CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap have not displayed its token code either. BIP-110 developer Chris Guida stated that the chain does not use centralized KYC exchanges, advocating for the acquisition and use of Bitcoin through the trading of goods and services.
