Hackathon Overview

EurekaHACKS is an annual 12-hour hackathon hosted by Abbey Park High School in Oakville, Canada, mainly for high school students. This year, there were 92 participants, and 51 projects were finally approved. As one of the largest high school hackathons in the Hatton area, the event offers technical workshops, over $7,000 in prize money, and creates a competitive atmosphere.

There are several awards for the competition: the winner of the Best Overall Hack will receive Bambu Lab A 1 Minis, and the runner-up will receive a Red Dragon mechanical keyboard; other awards are used to recognize projects that have outstanding local influence, creativity and technical expertise. Among them, projects using the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) can receive up to $500 in rewards, and projects involving Vectara can receive $300 in points. The technical seminar session also has rewards such as Jane Street cards, bubble tea and various vouchers.

The hackathon brought together young innovators to spark creativity and advance technical skills, while also highlighting the high level of engagement from the local community.
