Hackathon Overview
Build Brew - Espresso Global Hackathon attracted 485 developers and 151 projects were approved. The event was hosted by Espresso Network and distributed a total of $100,000 in prizes through two tracks, Caffeinate Code and Cracking Composability. The main goals included improving Ethereums composability and developing new cross-chain applications confirmed by Espresso.
The event achieved notable achievements, including the deployment of a functional rollup integrated with Espresso Network, which provides support for the development of interoperable applications. Innovation focuses on cross-chain functionality with fast and secure confirmations. Multiple projects used the Open Intents Framework to build advanced application architectures.
The Hackathon demonstrated the potential impact of the Espresso Network on the blockchain ecosystem by applying its consensus layer to real-world scenarios. The event supported the networks mission to make interactions between blockchains more seamless and highlighted the important role developers play in driving composability. The final demonstration on April 7 showed significant progress in developing Ethereum cross-chain capabilities.
Hackathon Winners
At the end of the first Build Brew hackathon, 91 Arbitrum Orbit chains with Espresso were successfully deployed, paving the way for innovative cross-chain applications. The event set up a total prize pool of $65,000 to highlight its industry influence, and the prize money was distributed in tiers based on the deployment results of the test network and main network.
