White-Haired Stock Oracle Serenity: Microsoft's Exit from Nscale Partnership May Benefit Compute Providers Like Nebius and IREN
Odaily Report: White-Haired Stock Oracle Serenity posted on X platform that the market may have misinterpreted the impact of Microsoft (MSFT) exiting its partnership with Nscale. In his view, this event may actually constitute a positive catalyst for Neocloud (new cloud computing) companies such as Nebius (NBIS) and IREN (IREN) that possess powered data center capacity and compute delivery capabilities.
Serenity noted that Microsoft's exit from the partnership does not mean it no longer needs AI compute, but rather that Nscale may have been unable to deliver on schedule. Microsoft still needs to find other suppliers to meet its compute demands, and therefore companies with readily available power resources and rapid delivery capabilities may gain new order opportunities. This event should not be simply interpreted as bearish for the entire Neocloud industry.
Previously reported, Microsoft (MSFT.O) has withdrawn from a data center partnership project with UK emerging cloud service provider Nscale in Lawford, Essex, UK. Microsoft did not disclose the specific reasons for terminating the partnership, but the project had been facing a series of delays. Local authorities have informed Nscale that power is not expected to be supplied to the facility until the 2030s.
