100 economists unanimously expect the Fed to raise rates again in December

Odaily reports: A latest Reuters survey shows that market expectations for the Federal Reserve's interest rate outlook are undergoing a notable shift. Expectations for an October rate hike have cooled somewhat, but a December rate hike has become the consensus view among surveyed economists, reflecting how strong economic growth and stubborn inflationary pressure are once again influencing monetary policy expectations.

In the survey conducted from October 16 to 20, 94 economists expected the Federal Reserve to keep the federal funds rate in the 3.75% to 4.00% range at its October 27-28 meeting. This view is consistent with expectations reflected in market pricing, and the meeting comes just days before the U.S. midterm elections in November.

By contrast, rate expectations for December have shifted sharply. In last month's survey, fewer than half of economists expected the Fed to raise rates in December; in this survey, all 100 respondents expected another rate hike by then.

Polymarket early investor Haseeb refutes reports of founder misappropriating funds, calls it a smear piece
Odaily reports: Haseeb Qureshi posted that recent reports claiming Polymarket founder Shayne Coplan was "caught red-handed misappropriating company funds" are "a complete smear piece." He stated that Shayne did not take a salary in the early days of the startup, working from an apartment at age 21 and barely keeping operations afloat; his fund was the first term sheet Polymarket received, and he had even proactively offered Shayne a personal loan. Haseeb said that each expense Shayne disclosed, annualized, amounts to roughly the annual salary of a software engineer, includes travel, and none were personal trips; the related bookkeeping and repayment process was initiated by Shayne himself, and the funds were ultimately fully repaid to the company and converted to normal salary.Haseeb said this is an accounting issue rather than an integrity issue, and stated that as an investor he has full confidence in Shayne.
Anthropic Caught in FUD Storm: Co-founder Siblings' Compensation Revealed, Market Worries About Capital Diversion
Odaily reports: AI company Anthropic posted a net loss of approximately $80.7 billion in the first half of 2026, a significant widening from $13 billion in the same period last year. Meanwhile, the tens of millions of dollars in equity awards granted to the company's co-founder siblings have sparked considerable controversy. It is reported that Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei and his sister, company president Daniela Amodei, each receive a base salary of approximately $655,000, but when stock and option awards are included, their total annual compensation reaches approximately $18 million and $16.5 million respectively.Market observers believe Anthropic is facing a wave of FUD-driven public pressure, which may be linked to concerns in both traditional financial markets and the crypto market about potential liquidity drain from a large-scale IPO. Neither traditional financial markets nor the crypto market wants to see another massive liquidity outflow like the one that occurred during the SpaceX IPO. (New York Post)
