Nasdaq Composite rises 1%, semiconductor chip stocks show notable gains

Producers rely on this report to help inform hedging decisions, while speculative traders use the data to observe changes in market positioning and whether related bets have become overly concentrated. CFTC Chairman Michael Selig said last week at an agricultural commodity futures conference in Kansas that the plan to increase the report's release frequency stems from demand from the agricultural community.
