Bakkt, a cryptocurrency company controlled by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), appointed David Clifton as interim CEO. Former CEO Mike Blandina will join JPMorgan, according to CoinDesk.

Bakkt has deep political and business relations and strong financial strength in the United States. Its first CEO, Kelly Loeffler, is currently a U.S. Senator. Bakkt is therefore considered a company that can promote the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.

This coaching change has surprised the outside world for three reasons

1. Bakkt just completed a $300 million Series B round of financing in March this year, making it the third blockchain company in history after Coinbase and Bitmain in terms of financing scale. It is surprising that the CEO chooses to leave his post to take up his new post at the time when he is making great plans.

2. Mike Blandina took office as the company's CEO in December last year, and resigned after only four months in office, which may affect the stability of the company's top management.

3. According to previous news, the Bakkt App will be launched this summer, and Bakkt's consumer payment tools have also been tested among some Starbucks users in the United States. The CEO chooses to step down ahead of a major product launch.
