Marvel will launch its official NFT starting from the Spider-Man IP, each priced at up to $400, marking the official entry of Marvel into encrypted collectibles
When the NFT market broke out earlier this year, Marvel did not participate in the market competition for the first time. In June, the comics giant announced plans to release NFTs through the VeVe marketplace.
Today (August 6), Marvel and VeVe announced that the superhero Spider-Man will be the protagonist of their first NFT product. Starting this Saturday (August 7th), there are five different Spider-Man collectibles available for purchase.
Prices for the collection range from $40 to $400 each, with each step up in price reducing the total number of editions. For example, the regular edition "Amazing Spider-Man" NFT will have as many as 32,000 buyers, while the collector's edition "Ultimate Spider-Man" NFT will be limited to 1,000 pieces.
NFT represents the ownership of digital assets verified by the blockchain, and supports the form of videos, images, tokenized tweets and more. Like many other VeVe collectibles, these Spider-Man NFTs are 3D "digital statues" that can be viewed from all angles and displayed in users' own custom virtual showrooms.
Spider-Man will be the first product from the collaboration, but other NFTs will follow during August, what VeVe calls "Marvel Month." Later this month, VeVe will offer five variant covers of "Marvel Comics #1." This is the company's original comic from 1939, featuring the Human Torch and the Diver.
