Selected Gitcoin Grant 21 rounds of worthy donation projects

Gitcoin donations have started again. This round (Gitcoin Grants Round 21) is the 21st round of donations for Gitcoin. Gitcoin Grants Round 21 (GG 21) is a round focused on ecosystem and community-driven. The themes are collaboration, new governance processes, and external partnerships. It is divided into 9 community rounds, mainly focusing on the Arbitrum chain, and the earliest donation deadline is August 21 at 19:00 (Beijing time).

I won’t go into too much detail about the introduction and operation of Gitcoin Grant. You can find it in previous Gitcoin Grant donation related content ( such as the Gitcoin Grants 20 rounds minimalist guide ). In this article, Odaily Planet Daily selects 29 projects worth donating in GG 21 according to ecology and scenarios.

GG 21: Booming Arbitrum Summer (Arbitrum Chain)  

This section aims to support the growth and development of the Arbitrum ecosystem. The matching pool amount is 150,000 ARB, with a total of 65 projects. The following are recommended donation projects:

NiceNode

NiceNode is an open source node operation platform that allows users to set up a node on their computer immediately without any technical knowledge. Compared with other node providers, NiceNode is simple and flexible to operate, and is supported by Ethereum Foundation, Gitcoin Grants, CityDAO, and EthStaker.

Revoke.cash

Revoke.cash is a resident project of Gitcoin donations in recent rounds. It is a token authorization tool used to protect wallets and applications. It can manage user wallet token approvals and perform wallet authorization cleanup. Regularly revoking application authorization can increase wallet security.

Umbra

Unmbra is a privacy transfer tool that accepts and withdraws cryptocurrencies by registering a transfer station. It can perform single transfers or batch transfers. It is very friendly to cryptocurrencies and basically does not increase the association of wallets (to prevent wallets from being collectively witched). It currently supports ETH mainnet, Arbitrum, Optimism, Gnosis Chain, Polygon and Base networks.

DefiLlama

I won’t go into too much detail about DefiLlama, it’s a commonly used data monitoring and query platform, and all you need is support.

DM 3 protocol

The DM3 protocol is a messaging protocol for Web3 that focuses on secure end-to-end encryption, decentralization, scalability, and interoperability. The DM3 registry is based on ENS, that is, the DM3 configuration file is added to the ENS name as a text record. It has also recently received funding for Wave 1 of the L1 public chain LUKSO.  

GiveStation

GiveStation is a multi-chain donation-earning grant protocol that aims to incentivize the Web3 ecosystem by providing token rewards to users who contribute to each blockchain project. Projects can apply for project donations, and users can receive token rewards by donating to support the innovation and collaboration of projects.

ethdaily.eth

ETH Daily is an Ethereum-focused news aggregator that provides a daily summary of important content through podcasts and newsletters, powered by Elon Musks social application aggregator Firefly.

Blockscout

Blockscout is an open source blockchain browser that helps users conduct in-depth searches, interact with contracts, and verify contracts on the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) blockchain. It currently supports on-chain transaction information queries for more than 600 networks, and recently completed a $3 million seed round of financing led by 1kx.

TurtleShell

TruleShell is a Web3 security tool that aims to detect malicious activity on the protocol and prevent hacker attacks by introducing an on-chain firewall. When abnormal activity occurs, the TurtleShell firewall will provide a series of protection measures, including transaction blocking, protocol suspension, fund freezing, or control of fund withdrawal.  

GG 21: Real World Builder (Celo Chain)

The Real World Builder Program supports teams researching use cases for blockchain technology that positively impact physical communities and the environment in areas such as financial HP, ecological credit, RWA, DePIN, etc. The matching pool amount is $75,000 for 37 projects. The following are the recommended donation projects for this round:  

Glo Dollar

Glo Dollar is a stablecoin backed by fiat currency that is used to fund public utilities, including poverty alleviation, decarbonization programs, and Web3 open source programs. Users do not need to make donations, just buy Glo on the chain to fund public utilities. After the purchase, the circulating Glo earns income by converting it into US dollars or US Treasury bonds (off-chain investment), and the income will return to the chain as Glo again. Users can use the income part of Glo to choose the project to support, and the donation page will share all transfer transaction information.  

Pretium

Pretium is an Africa-focused crypto payments platform that enables individuals and businesses to make payments at merchant points, facilitate cross-border payments, and settle other utility payments using crypto assets while settling payments for merchants in local currencies, currently operating in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa.

GG 21: Asia Round (Optimism chain)

Asia is an important region for the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. Asia Round mainly provides necessary funds and resources for Asian innovators, builders and projects. The matching pool funds are 75,000 DAI, with a total of 68 projects. The following are the recommended donation projects in this round:  

Zuzalu City

Zuzalu City is a Web3 community platform. Zuzalu is based on Vitalik’s “star” concept and is supported by the Ethereum Community Fund.  

CoindPay

CoindPay is a multi-chain DEX that currently supports 26+ EVM, Solana, and ICP chains. It supports cross-chain payments and cooperates with Coinbase Pay, Solana Pay, etc. to provide them with KYC technology to avoid witch attacks and malicious transfers. All payments will automatically flow into smart contracts such as Compound and Lido.

Nextme

Nextme is a cross-platform decentralized social economic network that supports 27+ EVM and Solana chain, focusing on creator economy, similar to Farcasters Venmo integrated with PayPal. Currently, the BETA version of the App has more than 140,000 users.

DeFiHackLabs  

DeFiHackLabs is a blockchain security research community dedicated to improving the on-chain security ecosystem and talent training, mainly focusing on smart contract security, on-chain monitoring, user asset security, anti-money laundering, CTF, emergency incident handling and rescue operations.

Hey.xyz

Hey.xyz (formerly Lenster) is a decentralized, permissionless social media application. Hey.xyz is powered by Lens Protocol, a decentralized social graph built by Aave.

MiniBridge

MiniBridge is a 0-fee cross-chain application with advantages such as multi-chain support and fast confirmation, developed by the Chaineye team. Chaineye is the winning project of the 2023 Shanghai Ethereum Conference and has received funding from Gitcoin, Optimism, and Arbitrum.  

GG 21: Public Good in The Metaverse (Arbitrum chain)

This round is dedicated to developing a truly decentralized Metaverse based on open standards, and promoting Metaverse as a public product through interoperable, open dApps and experiences. The matching pool amount for this round is 350,000 ARB, with a total of 5 projects. The recommended projects are:  

Pairwise

Pairwise is an open source voting Dapp that creates an AA wallet through Web2 login and connects the wallet to their existing OP mainnet address, which uses ZK proof to save their on-chain reputation. Voters create votes through the AA wallet and prove them through EAS.  

GG 21: Climate Solutions Wheel (Arbitrum Chain)

This round aims to fund climate solution projects with real impact around the world, with a matching pool of 125,000 USDGLO (the Glo Dollar stablecoin mentioned earlier), for a total of 71 projects, many of which have appeared in previous rounds of donations. Recommended projects are:

GainForest

GainForest is a non-profit organization that protects forest resources. The project uses existing AI algorithms to detect species and biodiversity, collects forest data through drones based on the Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN), and is committed to building the worlds largest and most valuable forest drone image dataset to change our understanding of the earths biological resources and enhance protection. In addition, the project will provide sustainable income for these forest data collectors.

Litter Token

Litter Token is an application that allows users to earn money by collecting garbage. The projects token LTK is used to pay users for collecting garbage. Users can collect garbage and take photos as proof, and then they can receive LTK on the projects DC. LTK will be sent to the users wallet and can be exchanged for USDC. After each garbage collection, the project will provide open source pictures of the garbage to prove the users behavior.

Solar Foundation

The Solar Foundation is also a decentralized solar solution that aims to accelerate access to off-grid solar energy for underserved communities in emerging markets, using decentralized small-scale solar installations to provide reliable and affordable electricity while reducing carbon dioxide emissions to protect the climate.  

GG 21: OpenCivics Collaborative Research Round (Arbitrum Chain)

The OpenCivics Collaborative Research Round is dedicated to contributing key research to the public domain and working with others to share this content in the form of direct licensing to community organizers. The matching pool amount is 42,000 USDC, with a total of 16 projects. The recommended projects are:

P2P Foundation

P2P Foundation is a network that studies the impact of P2P technology and infrastructure based on public facilities on various fields of society. The platform can be seen as the Wikipedia of Web3, with a lot of authoritative and popular science content and publications. The platform also draws on the Web2 mechanism to produce a lot of research content in the field of Web 3, including topics such as crypto governance and crypto economy (PS: Brother Sun follows the platforms X account).  

Stephen Reid

Stephen Reid is an interdisciplinary technologist who studies technological metamodernism. This application is mainly to support Stephen Reids course research. Reid will invite experts in some fields to discuss topics related to AI, Web3, DAO, technical communities, etc.

GG 21: CollabTech Wheel (Arbitrum Chain)

This round is mainly focused on the development of on-chain organizations, B2B SaaS and the future of work, and projects that promote identity and reputation, governance and decision-making, operations, community and contributor tools. The matching pool amount is 30,000 USDC, with a total of 29 projects. The recommended projects are:

ZKT Network

ZKT Network is a blockchain-free compliance infrastructure that supports cross-chain compliance transactions. Through ZK proofs and a set of developer tools, it simplifies the process of integrating regulatory standards into blockchain applications, ensuring that projects meet compliance without compromising privacy or decentralization.

Meet with Wallet

Meet with Wallet is a Web3 remote conference application that provides the user experience of Web2 while adhering to the decentralization and privacy of web3. Similar to Calendly in Web3, the application is connected through a wallet and does not require email or phone registration. Personal meetings are only public during the meeting stage, and all meeting agendas before the meeting are encrypted and can only be viewed by the person himself.

RnDAO

RnDAO is a research and development DAO and research-led venture capital ecosystem that supports Web3 collaborative software startups, providing research support to early-stage projects and building collaborative technologies such as organizational tools, community tools, DAO operations, and governance tools.

There are also several projects in this round of CollabTech that are supported by RnDAO, such as Meet with Wallet.

GG 21: Web3 Grant Ecosystem (Arbitrum Chain)

This round is mainly dedicated to promoting high-quality projects in the Web3 grant and news aggregation categories, with a matching pool amount of 125,000 ARB and a total of 57 projects. The recommended projects are:

welcomeonchain.eth

Welcomeonchain is a Web3 data collection platform that brings together industry-related popular science sections, project information, KOL profiles, and some tutorials on Web3 skills. Users only need to search for relevant information to get the content they want. Currently, the platform collects and maintains information on 1,500 projects, and has social attributes, and users can comment on any section.

CharmVerse

CharmVerse is an on-chain grant management platform designed for developers. Projects can publish proposals, conduct governance or raise funds through community voting, etc. Previously, CharmVerse completed a $3.8 million seed round of financing, with participation from Spartan Group, Cultur 3, Red Building Capital, Opensea Ventures, Alliance DAO, Orange DAO, Builder Capital, POAP Ventures, etc.  

GG 21: QuantumStake (Scroll)  

QuantumStake

This round is named after the application project QuantumStake, and the matching pool amount is 100,000 USDC. QuantumStake is a staking platform. According to its official website, the QuantumStake platform has the advantages of advanced technology integration, scalability, user-friendly interface, community-driven development, and smart contract auditing.  

Conclusion

The above-mentioned projects are screened based on the support behind the projects, the current donation amount and number of people, social platform data, and website design and perfection.
