On January 22, LINE NEXT, a subsidiary of LINE, a global first-tier social messaging app focused on Web3 ecosystem development, announced the launch of Mini Dapps with Kaia Blockchain to bring a more convenient Web3 service experience to global users.
This new feature is very similar to WeChat Mini-App and Telegram Mini-App. It can be directly accessed through the Dapp Portal official account on LINE without the need for users to download additional applications, covering multiple categories such as games, social media and content. At the same time, the mini-app function has a built-in wallet function, which natively realizes the transaction and reward acquisition of virtual assets and NFTs.
Will this be a new wave of TG applets? Before that, let’s first understand the background.
What is LINE ? What is Kaia? What is LINE Mini-Dapp?
Kaia blockchain is a Layer-1 blockchain platform jointly launched by South Korean social giant Kakao and Japanese instant messaging app LINE. It is formed by integrating Kakaos Klaytn chain and LINEs Finschia blockchain, aiming to provide a high-performance, low-latency and developer-friendly environment for Web3 applications. Kaia blockchain can process about 4,000 transactions per second, is fully compatible with EVM, and has transaction fees as low as one-tenth of Ethereum. It also supports multi-key account settings. Its native token KAIA can be used to pay transaction fees, participate in network governance, and stake for rewards.
As of press time, the Kaia token is currently trading at around $0.2, having reached a high of over $0.4 in the previous three months.

LINE is an instant messaging app developed by Japans LINE Corporation and first launched in 2011. It provides free chat, voice call and video call functions, and supports emoticons and stickers. In addition to basic communication functions, LINE also integrates social media, payment services (LINE Pay), games, news and e-commerce, forming a diversified digital ecosystem, which is roughly equivalent to another WeChat in Asia.
LINE has a large user base in Asian countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia, and is one of the most popular communication tools in the region: in Japan, LINE has about 93 million monthly active users, a penetration rate of 92.5% , covering about 70% of the population ; in Taiwan, its penetration rate is as high as 95.7% , making it the most popular communication tool there; and in Thailand, the number of users is about 53 million, with a penetration rate of 80%. In other words, in terms of positioning, LINE and WeChat are very similar, and the ecosystem stickiness is strong enough to compete with Telegram.
Therefore, the idea of creating a Telegram Mini-App on LINE came naturally. This feature was officially launched a few days ago. Let’s take a look at what mini-apps are there and whether it will lead a new wave of TON like the Telegram Mini-App.
According to LINE NEXT’s official news, the first batch of 32 Mini Dapps were developed through the Kaia Wave program jointly operated by LINE NEXT and the Kaia Foundation, as well as LINE NEXT’s software development kit (SDK). LINE’s official release lists a total of five flagship mini-programs, which will be experienced one by one below.
Wallet connection and user onboarding
In terms of connecting wallets, the cooperation between Kaia and Line has simplified many steps, which can indeed allow new users who have never been exposed to Web3 to get started directly. In the pop-up window for wallet connection, you can directly connect to OKX Wallet (after testing, the iPhone will directly jump to OKX Wallet for connection operations, and the overall experience is very smooth), or you can create a new wallet on Kaia through the Line account. You need to set a long password and a six-digit short password. All daily signatures and other operations can be completed by entering this 6-digit short password, which is very convenient.
It should be noted that although this LINE automatically generated wallet is an EVM wallet, it is not a full-chain wallet like the OKX Wallet, but is only on the Kaia chain, and thus only supports assets on Kaia, including assets on Klatyn and Finschia before the merger. And like other existing social software wallet connection solutions, this wallet is also strongly bound to the users Line account.
What is more interesting is that in terms of account deposits and withdrawals, the general Swap function is supported in LINEs mini-program center, and fiat currency deposits (all current mainstream payment solutions in Europe and the United States can be used, including Visa and Apple Pay, etc.) are supported by Alchemy Pay; and in terms of withdrawals, the page shows that withdrawals need to be made from exchanges that have listed Kaia , including all mainstream exchanges in South Korea and Japan, as well as Binance, OKX, etc.
Bombie and Cattea
According to official news, Bombie and Cattea are mini-app projects developed by Pluto Studio, which attracted 43 million users in just six months and set a record of No. 1 in sales.
Cattea must be an application that most readers are quite familiar with. This small program named Cattea (Cat Tea) is a replica of Yanglegeyang . The gameplay of Cattea is simple and crude. After passing a simple teaching level, you can start the second stage of the game with a sharp increase in difficulty. However, the blocks are stacked up, and it is difficult to really win the game. At the same time, there are a large number of Web3 elements in the picture elements, including Bitcoin Logo, Kaia Logo, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, PEPE, etc. Similarly, Cattea can also obtain tokens through various tasks, and the settlement of tokens is to obtain tokens for each elimination of a pair of three patterns, rather than winning a game. These tokens can also be used to purchase props such as removal and shuffling.

The overall gameplay of Bombie is the Tap-tap game that was popular on Telegram before . Players can upgrade the equipment in the equipment slot by continuously opening airdrop boxes. If low-level equipment is opened, it can be sold. If high-level equipment is used up, it can be upgraded to fight monsters. In theory, airdrop boxes can be consumed; but in the game, there are always various rewards and upgrade paths to continuously obtain airdrop boxes, so it is actually no different from other Tap-Tap games. However, in actual experience, Bombies task system is very diverse, there are always tasks to complete, characters, equipment and airdrop boxes themselves can be upgraded and bring rewards, and the feedback is very sufficient.

These games all have built-in social functions. Players can see the scores of their friends on LINE in the same game and get rewards by inviting friends.
Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS
Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS- on LINE is a game based on the popular soccer manga Captain Tsubasa. The gameplay of this game is a combination of soccer manager and Tap-Tap. The core revolves around something called soccer coins: players can get soccer coins by continuously clicking on the image of soccer player Tsubasa on the game homepage, or by completing daily tasks and winning streaks. At the same time, on another manager page, players can upgrade passive benefits through tasks such as recruiting, training, appointing coaches, and upgrading gyms, which means that they can get soccer coins even without clicking on the screen.

Currently, the game’s official X account has over 600K followers.
Superz
Superz, a health and fitness Dapp for non-crypto users, combines fitness habits with real rewards. The homepage is a bunny running game similar to the Tap-tap game, but the interaction method is slightly different. On another page, there is a beta version of Move-to-earn; users need to open the camera and do squats to earn more game coins to continue playing .

Currently, the number of SuperZ users is around 40,000.
On the LINE Mini Program Center page, several mini programs are running activities, and the total reward that can be directly obtained is about 569 KAIA, which is worth about 113.8 US dollars. According to the press release of LINE NEXT, the company plans to launch more than 1,000 projects by the end of 2025. As for whether the mini program itself will issue coins in the future and whether there will be a new round of wealth creation effect, Odaily Planet Daily will continue to pay attention to the report.
