On June 24, Nexus officially launched the last round of testnet mining (Testnet III) before the mainnet. This round of testing is not only open to mainland China, but also introduces a mechanism for points to be exchanged for test tokens. Next, Odaily Planet Daily will take you to seize the last mining bonus before the Nexus mainnet.
Nexus: A parallelized proof-of-stake mining network
Nexus Network is a parallelized proof-of-stake mining network, where Nexus zkVM is a modular, scalable, open source, highly parallelized, validator-optimized, contributor-friendly zkVM written in Rust, with a focus on performance and security. Whether it is a laptop or a mobile phone, Nexus makes it easy for anyone to contribute computing resources. With just one click, users can connect to the network, start earning rewards, and help expand a verifiable network built for the AI economy.
According to ROOTDATA data , Nexus has completed two rounds of financing, with a total amount of US$27.2 million , including:
In October 2022, Nexus announced the completion of a $2.2 million seed round of financing, led by Dragonfly, with participation from Alliance DAO, SV Angel, Blockchain Builders Fund, and others;
In June 2024, Nexus announced the completion of a US$25 million Series A financing round, led by Lightspeed and Pantera, with participation from Dragonfly, Faction and Blockchain Builders Fund.
Testnet III is now online, points can be exchanged for test tokens
On June 24, Nexus posted on the X platform that Nexus Testnet III has been launched. Unlike the past, Testnet III will run for weeks instead of days, and Nexus Testnet III is the last stage testnet. It is worth mentioning that Nexus Testnet III is open to the mainland, so you can participate in mining without climbing over the firewall. At the same time, Nexus CEO Dan posted on the X platform that the more computing power users provide, the more points they will get. In addition, the community’s frequently asked questions about Nexus Testnet III are answered as follows:
Q: Can one account run multiple nodes?
A: Yes, the key lies in the total computing power, and the mechanism is similar to Bitcoin.
Q: How are mining rewards calculated?
A: Points are allocated every epoch (i.e. every few blocks) and are distributed according to the percentage of contributed computing power. At the same time, user transactions, application deployment, X/Discord binding and other behaviors will also be taken into consideration.
Q: What is the difference between points and tokens?
A: Points can be exchanged for Testnet IIIs ERC-20 testnet tokens.
Q: What calculations are the nodes performing?
A: ZK proof calculations are performed through zkVM v3.0, and the tasks are distributed by the network.
According to the official documentation, once Testnet III begins, previous NEX Devnet points and NEX Devnet tokens will be reset so that users can start earning NEX testnet points and NEX testnet tokens. So, how can we seize the final stage of the Nexus testnet , stand at the same starting point with other money-pulling parties, and get potential airdrop opportunities in the future?
Interactive Tutorial
Currently, Nexus Testnet III has been online for less than 3 days, and the entire Nexus Network has 148.3 nodes, with more than 350,000 online nodes, which shows its popularity.
STEP 1. After entering the mining link (link: https://app.nexus.xyz/ ), click Sign in in the upper right corner and log in through Google Mail.
STEP 2. After clicking on your profile picture, bind your X and Discord personal social accounts.
STEP 3. Click the button below to start mining.
STEP 4. Click the button shown in the figure below to view the points earned and historical points of Nexus Testnet III. Currently, every 1,000 NEX testnet points can be exchanged for 1 NEX testnet token.
Finally, in addition to mining through the web page, you can also contribute computing to the network through the Nexus Network CLI (a command line tool used to contribute computing resources to the network). For specific instructions on how to follow the script on your computer, please click here to view the document: https://docs.nexus.xyz/layer-1/testnet/cli-node .
Since most methods using Nexus Network CLI need to be run on a server, you need to pay to rent a server. If you want to do it for free, you can skip it. If you want to earn more points, you can also pay to deploy a Nexus node on Mintair (link: https://www.mintair.xyz/dashboard ). Currently, it costs $8.99 per month to deploy a Nexus node.
